Should my fiancé get tested, even though he has no symptoms and has only been with one woman 5 years ago?

If I’m a virgin and my fiancee has only been with one woman (over 5 years ago), should he be tested for STD’s before we get married even if he’s never had any symptoms?
Yes, absolutely. While many people with sexually transmitted infections experience symptoms (like discharge, burning, or itching), it’s possible to have a sexually transmitted infection and not know it. For example, 50 percent of men with chlamydia have no symptoms. And it takes an average of 10 years for HIV symptoms to develop. The only way for your partner to be sure that he doesn’t have a sexually transmitted infection is to get tested.
