Why do we get hairs around our penis?

Hair around your penis — known as pubic hair — is a sign of puberty. Puberty is the time of your life when your body changes from looking like a child to looking like an adult. The levels of hormones in your body changes as you go through puberty and adolescence. The hormones cause more body, facial, and pubic hair to grow.

It’s totally normal to have hair on the shaft of the penis, testicles (balls), and buttocks. Some guys have a lot of hair in these areas, and some have only a little.
