Someone asked us:

Hello I'm 14 and female I hit puberty at 9 years old I've never felt any sexual feelings I've been exposed to a good amount of sexual things in my life enough to the point where i should feel something I was wondering if this is something abnormal and if I can get help for it as it's hurting my relationships and mental health thank you for your time

It’s totally normal to not have sexual feelings. There’s no “normal” amount you should want to have sex or feel sexual attraction — everyone’s sexual desire and interest in sex is different, and it can change over time. Some people identify as asexual, and some people develop sexual feelings as they grow older.

It takes time to learn about and get in touch with your sexual feelings. No matter how much pressure you feel, just remember that there’s no race or finish line for sexual expression.
