Is it likely to get pregnant from pre-cum on the pill if you have taken it correctly?
The pill is up to 99.7% effective at preventing pregnancy, when it’s taken correctly.
Pre-ejaculate (pre-cum) is the liquid that oozes out of a man’s penis before ejaculation, when semen spurts out. Unlike semen, pre-ejaculate does not contain sperm. But some men’s bodies leak sperm into their pre-ejaculate. And pre-cum can pick up sperm remaining in the urethra from a previous ejaculation. If either of these happen, the small amount of sperm in the pre-ejaculate might cause pregnancy, even though the chances are small. But if you’re using the pill correctly, it’s highly unlikely that you can get pregnant this way.
