When you first start having your period, it may last only a few days or be super light. But it’s normal to bleed anywhere from 2 to 7 days.
Everyone’s body is different, so your period will be unique to you. If your period is so heavy that you have to change your menstrual cup, pads or super tampons every hour, call your nurse, doctor, or your local Planned Parenthood health center.
Your body changes over time, and so can your period. Things like stress, birth control methods, and other health conditions may also affect your period.
