I just got the depo shot yesterday. During sex today the condom broke. Should I be worried about getting pregnant? If so should I take the morning after pill?
If you got the shot within the first seven days after the start of your period, you were protected from pregnancy immediately. (This is also true if you got the shot within five days after miscarriage or an abortion, or within three weeks after giving birth.) Otherwise, you needed to use a backup birth control method for the first week after getting the shot. If this was the case, and the condom broke, and your partner ejaculated in your vagina, you might want to take emergency contraception to reduce the risk of pregnancy.
