Statement from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America:

Planned Parenthood supports Dr. Blasey Ford for bravely telling her story, and the Senate Judiciary Committee should treat her and her family with respect and with concern for their safety. The efforts to railroad Dr. Blasey Ford and rush this nomination through as she faces death threats are chilling and reprehensible. Chairman Grassley and the Republican leadership are uninterested in meaningfully investigating a sexual assault charge against a nominee in line for a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. This is a moment of truth for the Senate –– and so far they are betraying American women. All senators should call for an FBI investigation of Dr. Blasey Ford’s credible allegations.

“Leader McConnell and Chairman Grassley’s total disregard for Dr. Blasey Ford is the latest example of their single-mindedness to rush this nomination through a biased and shameful process. She deserves better.  And the American people deserve better.
