Planned Parenthood Responds to Latest on Kavanaugh
For Immediate Release: Sept. 24, 2018
Washington, D.C. – Tonight, following Brett Kavanaugh’s interview with Fox News and the announcement of the Judiciary Committee’s intention to schedule a vote on Friday, Planned Parenthood issued the following statement:
Quote from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President, Planned Parenthood Action Fund:
We believe survivors. Remember: this is not a trial. It’s Brett Kavanaugh’s job interview for a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. Brett Kavanaugh was nominated with the promise he’d overturn Roe v. Wade, he has a record of ruling against women’s rights and health, and now Republican leadership are trying to rush past serious allegations from multiple women of sexual assault. He’s not entitled to a seat on the Supreme Court, and his judicial record and these allegations cement that his nomination must be withdrawn.
