New York, NY — Planned Parenthood released the statement below in response to the White House’s immigration reform framework.

Statement from Dana Singiser, Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations, Planned Parenthood Federation of America:

“President Trump has made it clear time and time again that this White House does not want to get a bipartisan DACA deal done. Allowing some dreamers a pathway to citizenship that is contingent on continuing to attack the rights of other immigrants in this country is not a compromise — its a disgrace.

“There is an urgent need to provide stability for immigrant youth and Dreamers whose status in this country remains unknown. A clear solution that the majority of the country supports is on the table. Immigrant youth are Americans and should be treated with dignity, not used as political pawns. Instead of wasting time on proposals that are rooted in xenophobic and racist ideology, Congress and the administration should be focused on passing a clean Dream Act now.”
