Our research team at Planned Parenthood is dedicated to advancing innovation in sexual and reproductive health care. Our goals are to:

  • Advance reproductive/sexual health by participating in research
  • Provide our patients with opportunities to be involved in research
  • Provide certain services free of charge as part of research - some of our studies provide free annual exams, pap tests, testing, birth control etc. as part of the study

PPSLRSWMO is currently looking for patients to participate in one of our several ongoing studies on sexual health. Not only is it FREE to participate, but you may receive compensation or certain services free of charge. The studies help Planned Parenthood and other reproductive health providers improve health care and health care access.

Current Research Studies

Implants and Ovary Function

To participate, patients must:

  • Age 18+
  • Have an implant in their arm currently that has been in for at least 3 years - 6 years

  • Be able to make 4 in person visits - blood draw at each visit and complete a 30-day text eDiary,

  • Participating patients receive $25 gift card for every in person visit

Patient-Reported Health Outcomes and Herpes

To participate, patients must:

  • Age 18+

  • Must have had at least one HSV2 genital herpes recurrence in the last 12 months, OR be newly diagnosed with genital herpes HSV2

  • Be HIV-negative
  • Be able to make a minimum of 3 office visits and 7 telephone check-ins over 24 months and 1 required blood draw
  • If eligible, participants will get at least $650 over the course of 24 months and complete all required visits/contacts
