Please note: During your appointment, you will speak with a health professional to discuss your medical information and your options. You will have the opportunity to ask questions. Important information regarding your visit:
- Your appointment will be between 2 to 4 hours.
- You will need to bring a photo ID and insurance information for check-in.
- Commercial Insurance: We recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm your eligibility and benefits. Co-Pays are due at the time of your appointment.
- Self-pay for uninsured, under-insured, or patients not wishing to use their insurance for privacy reasons can set up payment plans for their charges. Please discuss this with your Health Center Receptionist at check-in.
- Oregon Health Plan: Your insurance will cover the cost of your appointment and services.
- If you do not have health insurance and would like to find out if you can get financial assistance, call us at 541-344-9411.
- The out-of-pocket cost for this appointment without insurance coverage is $700.
- The following services are covered in the cost of the visit:
- Education and consultation about your pregnancy options.
- Education and consultation about your future contraception options, if desired.
- Education and consultation about your abortion options and what to expect.
- In-house ultrasound(s).
- In-house lab work (such as a pregnancy test, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing, hemoglobin testing, or Rh Typing), if required.
- Mifepristone and Misoprostol (the medications used for a medication abortion)
- Any antibiotic and anti-nausea medications taken during your appointment
- Rhogam injection, if required.
- One cycle of birth control, which includes one pill-pack, one ring, one Depo shot OR one pack of emergency contraception
- A follow-up plan, which will be discussed at your appointment.
- Any additional visits during the 30-day follow-up period that are directly related to abortion follow-up care
- The following services are not covered in the cost of the visit and may result in additional out-of-pocket costs, depending on your funding options:
- Any additional medications scripted out to a pharmacy (nausea medications, contraceptives, etc.)
- Care received at a different health facility related to your abortion.
- LARC (Long Acting Reversible Birth Control) birth control methods (such as an IUD or Implant).
- Any additional birth control supplies
- The following services are covered in the cost of the visit:
- Your appointment will include an ultrasound, an education and consent session and discussion of pain management, lab work, and a birth control consultation. At the end of the appointment, you will take the first dose of medication (Mifepristone) at the clinic.
- The first dose of medication may make you nauseous, so we encourage you to eat something before you come in.
- We ask that you do not use any drugs or alcohol on the day of the appointment. You may continue any prescribed medication as directed.
- You can come by yourself and drive yourself home. Due to our COVID-19 protocols, we are unable to accommodate a support person into the clinic.
- If a support person accompanies you to the appointment, please have them wait outside.
- If you have any children at home, we request that they do not accompany you to this
appointment due to the long visit length. - If you are more than 10 minutes late to the appointment, there is no guarantee that you will be seen.
- The health center will do their best to accommodate you, however, the appointment may need to be rescheduled.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to the health center.
