Bridges to Prenatal Care Program

Services include: Gestational dating ultrasound, prenatal lab work, prenatal vitamin prescription, genetic screening, and more

The Bridges to Prenatal Care pilot program is a new initiative that provides initial prenatal care, while also bridging PPIL patients to an OBGYN, midwife, or other full-service prenatal care provider for the duration of their pregnancy.

Bridges to Prenatal Care Program

Bridges to Prenatal Care aims to reduce disparities in maternal health and improve health outcomes for Black women and Black birthing people in Illinois.

Early prenatal visits with PPIL include:

  • Gestational dating ultrasound
  • Initial prenatal lab work
  • Physical exam
  • Prenatal vitamin prescription
  • Genetic screening
  • Navigation services for prenatal care providers in patient’s insurance network
  • Medicaid insurance application assistance for eligible patients
  • Navigation and support connecting to wrap-around services (i.e. birthing classes, doulas, food assistance, etc.)
