New Convenient, Central Location
PPLM’s new Central Massachusetts Health Center will be located at 470 Pleasant Street in Worcester. This location is in the heart of the city and is easy to access by car and public transportation. There is a bus stop directly in front of the building and plenty of parking.
Why a New Health Center?
Since 1982, our Central Massachusetts Health Center has been an important resource for the greater Worcester community. Increasing access to sexual health care and education is crucial to improving the health of area residents.

Demand for services at our center in Worcester has increased over the past decade, particularly for preventive services such as annual exams, birth control and testing for sexually transmitted infections. Last year, our 7,000 patients had 10,000 visits. With a new, larger health center, we will be able to meet the growing health care needs of the community.
"Green" Design
An important part of the new building is that it will feature sustainable, "green" design. The building’s "green"features will offer more natural light and an up to date, soothing environment. Other features will help us to use water and energy efficiently. We estimate that the costs associated with the sustainable building design will be offset by savings in other areas over time.
Building Features
Features of the new building will include:
- 11,000 square feet – for our health center,education and community outreach offices.
- Patient rooms designed so patients get all the care they need in one room – and clinicians and staff come to them
- Meeting rooms where we can train local teachers in our sex education curriculum, and where we can have parent workshops to help parents and kids talk more comfortably about sexual health.

How to Donate
We are raising $5 million to design and build our new Central Massachusetts Health Center. These funds will help us to do more than just build the facility that the community needs. Your support will allow us to increase our services, promote sexual health care and reduce rates of sexually transmitted infections and teen pregnancy.
