Planned Parenthood of Western PA has a robust and highly active Volunteer Program.

Our volunteers support our organization in numerous ways.

****Currently, we are not accepting volunteers to support within our Downtown Pittsburgh health clinics as our needs are met in this area. However, we are still accepting volunteers for our Johnstown, Greensburg, Moon, Bridgeville and Somerset clinics.*****

We are currently accepting Planned Parenthood volunteers for these areas:

  • Our volunteers support Planned Parenthood by:

    • Participating in community outreach

    • Participating in fundraising events

    • Participating in advocacy for our organization

    • And more (inquire at orientation)

  • Currently, it takes between 4 - 6 weeks to process volunteer applications. Once your application has been processed, you will be contacted by The Volunteer Coordinator via e-mail to arrange to attend a Volunteer Orientation and then to begin to volunteer.

  • Planned Parenthood of Western PA Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 3 months of engagement with the organization.

  • Additionally, PPWP Volunteers are asked to attend 1 volunteer shift (typically 3 - 5 hours) once each month. Please ensure that you have the time and ability to commit to this prior to applying.

  • To apply, please fill out our Volunteer Application. Within 4 - 6 weeks, should your application match our criteria, you will hear from our Volunteer Coordinator via e-mail about your status. *applicants are not guaranteed acceptance into our Volunteer Program.
