Gender-Affirming Care Services

Our gender-affirming care services include:

Estrogen based Hormone Therapy, including estrogen, progesterone, and spironolactone
Testosterone based Hormone Therapy

Our medical staff is highly trained, compassionate, and respectful of individual patient needs and preferences

We offer gender-affirming services both in our health centers and on telehealth. We are also  happy to see patients who are already on hormone therapy and want to transfer their care to us. Most people are able to get a hormone prescription at the end of their first visit with usIn some cases, your provider may want additional lab work or information before prescribing, but will schedule a follow up visit with you to discuss your care further.

All services offered at The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood are available to patients of all genders.

In addition to hormone therapy, we offer many sexual and reproductive health services, such as HIV prevention (PrEP and PEP), STI testing and treatment, birth control, abortion, and screenings for cervical and breast cancers. We also offer referrals for additional services like laser hair removal, legal support, and mental health resources. We provide our trans and nonbinary patients with surgery letter support as well as updating name and gender on legal documents.
