The topics and content presented by our Education team align directly with the National Sex Education Standards and includes information and activities from the evidence-based curriculum Get Real, Comprehensive Sex Education That Works as well as supplemental information from other credible resources. Get Real is a comprehensive sex education curriculum developed by Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. Get Real emphasizes social and emotional skills as a key component of healthy relationships and responsible decision making. It promotes abstinence from sex as the healthiest choice for adolescents; provides a comprehensive understanding of sexual health, sexuality and protection methods; and supports parents as the primary sexuality educators of their children through family activities that encourage dialogue between students and the caring adults in their lives about sexual health topics.

The goal of the National Sexuality Education Standards is to provide clear, consistent and straight forward guidance on the essential minimum, core content for sexuality education that is developmentally and age-appropriate for students in grades K–12. The development of these standards is a result of an ongoing initiative, the Future of Sex Education (FoSE).
