What is telehealth?

Your sexual and reproductive health can't wait, that's why Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio is proud to launch telehealth services. Telehealth delivers high quality care through video whenever you need it and from the comfort of home. Got questions about your prescriptions, how to manage your birth control or treat that STD? Ease your mind. Get care. Save a trip. Planned Parenthood offers telehealth because we know you need help now.

What Services are Available through Telehealth?

Many services are now available via telehealth. Expand each item below to learn more.

Birth Control

These birth control methods are available through telehealth:

  • Pill
  • Patch
  • Ring

The birth control shot, IUDs and the birth control implant will require an in-person visit.

STI Testing & Treatment

Urine screening for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Trich, as well as blood screening for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Syphilis are available, but will require that you go to a LabCorp test site near you.

If you have any symptoms, you will need to be seen in the office and are not eligible for a virtual visit.

Chlamydia and Trich can be treated through a virtual visit but Gonorrhea will need to be treated in person.

Emergency Contraception

A prescription for emergency contraception is available via a telehealth visit. For patients 17 or older, emergency contraception is also available over-the-counter at Planned Parenthood and many local pharmacies.

UTI Treatment

UTI symptoms can be treated through a telehealth visit if symptoms have lasted fewer than seven days and you do not have a fever greater than 100.4 degrees or other symptoms.

PrEP/PEP

Pre-Exposure (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) are available through telehealth.

Other Services

Other visits that do not require a physical exam can also be seen virtually. A call center representative can help determine if your visit can be seen via telehealth. If you are experiencing symptoms of an infection, you will need to be seen in-person.
