PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS STATEMENT ON THE

PASSING OF THE YOUTH WELLNESS ACT IN THE STATE HOUSE

DENVER, CO - The following statement was released today, February 19, and is attributed to Sarah Taylor-Nanista, Vice President of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains:

"The passing of the Youth Wellness Act (HB19-1032) in the Colorado State House sends a clear signal about the priorities of Coloradans. Our communities understand that access to medically accurate, developmentally appropriate information leads to better long-term health outcomes. Informed students become healthy members of their society. Parents, teachers, and students want sex education that includes information about consent, healthy relationships, birth control, and other key items outlined in this bill. As this bill moves to the Senate, we look forward to working with our elected officials to make sure every Colorado student receives the information they need to thrive, today and into the future.”
