Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) rang in its second century in style at its event “Cheers to 100 Years.”

More than 250 people gathered in the FIRE Lounge at the ART Hotel on Saturday, September 24 to celebrate 100 years of care, progress, purpose, reproductive rights, resiliency, and so much more. The crowd ran the gamete: activists, board members, volunteers, staff members, community partners, and more.

The night featured sushi, signature cocktails, manicures with designs like the PP logo or a happy uterus, a live band and DJ, and a donut wall. Yes, a donut wall. The quirky bakeshop, Voodoo Doughnuts, created a newfangled display of colorful (and delicious) donuts hanging from pegs in grid formation.

The crowd heard from Vicki Cowart, PPRM President & CEO, Marie Logsden Senior VP of Communication Learning & Diversity, and Brenda Vaden, Director of Major Gifts. The evening raised more than $12,000 that will go directly toward the Responsible Sex Education Institute (RSEI).

On top of being the leading sexual and reproductive health care providers and advocates in the reproductive health movement, PPRM is the expert in sex education. RSEI empowers young people to have healthy relationships, safer sex, and take care of their bodies.

The refined and funky evening was the best way to reflect on the last 100 years and celebrate the beginning of the next century.
