Telehealth Frequently Asked Questions

What technology do I need for a Telehealth appointment?

You will need to use the app MyChart for your telehealth appointment. This can be downloaded to a cell phone or computer. When you book your telehealth appointment, a MyChart link and sign-up instructions will be sent to the email address you provided. This email will have a subject line “Signup information for MyChart.” The link is good for 14 days and then will expire. Read these troubleshooting tips if you run into any issues.

MyChart has lots of other great benefits like instant test results, secure messaging, e-check in and more. We encourage all patients to sign up!

Where do I need to be located for a Telehealth appointment?

You need to be in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont during your visit. You can be in any home, building, parked car, or other place that is easy for you!

How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?

The cost depends on the service you're being seen for, but there is no difference in cost for Telehealth or health center visits. We accept most insurance, including Anthem, BlueCross, Cigna, MaineCare, MVP, and Medicaid. We can work with you to determine if your insurance is active the day of your appointment. We also see many people without insurance and have programs available to help reduce the cost of care. This includes a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. We also have special programs that may allow you to receive free family planning services.

What if I'm prescribed medication during my appointment? How do I get it?

We can mail many medications to an address of your choice in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. You can pick up your medication at a pharmacy near you. Or you can pick up medications at your nearest Planned Parenthood location. If you need tests, we can mail them to you, you can get them done at your nearest Planned Parenthood location, or we can send the testing order to a testing place near you.
