Essex County Health Department

The mission of Cooperative Extension is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. Extension staff and trained volunteers deliver education programs, conduct applied research, and encourage community collaborations.

National Alliance on Mental Illness of Champlain Valley

North Country Center for Independence

The Mission of the North Country Center for Independence is to help people with disabilities to live more independent and productive lives, and promote better policies and community understanding of disability issues. NCCI serves people with disabilities, families, and the community on issues related to physical and mental disabilities. NCCI is led and staffed mostly by people with disabilities.

“Serves all Middle and High School students primarily in the Saranac Lake School District.

PRIDE of Ticonderoga

“PRIDE of Ticonderoga is a non-profit organization established in 1984 for the purpose of connecting and enhancing the community through housing restoration, downtown revitalization, historic preservation, and community development programs.”

Literacy Volunteers of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties

“We provide one-on-one tutoring for adults who seek to improve their reading and math skills as well as English conversation skills for non-native speakers. All of our services are provided 100% free of charge.”

Day care services for parents/caretakers who meet certain eligibility requirements, Home Energy Assistance Program, Medicaid Unit, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, temporary assistance programs, Youth employment and recreation programs, and more.
