PPNCNY starts No Scalpel Vasectomies in Saranac Lake Health Center

[WATERTOWN] – PPNCNY is expanding male services to include No Scalpel Vasectomies in Franklin County at the Saranac Lake health center.  The NSV has proven to be a 99.85% effective method for birth control and gives men a 40-50% faster recovery rate than a conventional surgical vasectomy.  The no scalpel, no suture, no stitch procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and may be covered under Medicaid and most insurances. Call 1-800-230-PLAN to set up an appointment with a family planning provider to see if this choice is right for you.

Regional Manager at Planned Parenthood, Sylvia King, states, “We are very excited to bring the choice of no scalpel vasectomies as a form of birth control to men in the North Country.  This effective and efficient form of birth control may be covered under insurance and Medicaid.”

The Saranac Lake health care center will be the first center to provide No Scalpel Vasectomies.  In the future, the NSV procedure will be available in the Plattsburgh and Watertown health centers.  Call 1-800-230-PLAN to set up an appointment with a family planning provider to see if this choice is right for you.
