Shine

If you have the knowledge, let others light their candles in it – Margaret Fuller

Time and time again, Planned Parenthood supporters show up to support this community. Despite being in the thick of our toughest battles in the movement for reproductive freedom, Iowans are rising above. Because of supporters—like you—Iowans can come to Planned Parenthood North Central States to access vital health care, innovative research, inclusive sex education, and dedicated advocacy.

Join us to gather in community and demonstrate your support of reproductive freedom.

Ruth Richardson, PPNCS President and CEO

Ruth Richardson is a lawyer, health equity champion, and a trailblazer. Before coming to PPNCS, Ruth was entrenched in the fight for sexual and reproductive health. During her time as CEO of Wayside Recovery Center, she tackled the mental health needs in the community head-on. Ruth previously served in the MN House of Representatives where she passed more than 50 bills that were signed into law between 2019-2023 many focused-on health equity and reproductive justice. A strong Black maternal health leader, Ruth is uniquely positioned as a longtime advocate and leading voice for equitable health care to lead the fight to ensure all patients can access care—no matter their race, income, sexual orientation, gender identity, or background.
