How do you spend my donation?

Your donation helps us provide vital clinical services, education, and advocacy throughout our five-state region.

    • Health Services: Your gift helps us deliver health care services to all who need them.
    • Education: You are helping others make responsible, healthy decisions by supporting our medically accurate, age-appropriate sex education programs. Every dollar counts.
    • Advocacy: We’re fighting for public policies that protect your health and safety. With your help, we’re building a grassroots movement that will protect your right to reproductive health and freedom.

May I designate my gift for a specific purpose?

Yes. Simply make that designation known in writing, either in a letter accompanying your gift or on the memo line of your check. If you wish to designate your gift, please include information on how to reach you in case we have questions about your requested designation.

Doesn't the government support Planned Parenthood?

While we do receive some support from government and other funding sources, those funds are not adequate to meet our ongoing needs. Some government programs run out of funds weeks or months before the end of the grant year. Others are specific and restrictive in the services they will and won't support. Private gifts are the best way to fill these gaps.

How do I designate Planned Parenthood in my will or estate plan?

Share your estate with one of the causes you care about most. Planning a gift is a way to ensure Planned Parenthood is here for generations to come. You can help us continue our legacy of personal responsibility and freedom with a planned gift. Learn more about planned giving. Please specify Planned Parenthood North Central States tax ID number (EIN): 83-0614523.

Can Planned Parenthood accept a matching gift from my company?

Yes. Learn more about workplace giving.Contact your Human Resources Department to see if your employer has a charitable matching gift program. Also, if you give a workplace gift or through the United Way, you may designate your donation by simply writing in our name and address on your pledge form.

    Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes.  Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN: 83-0614523) and donations to PPNCS are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. A portion of your admission price for some of our events may also be tax deductible. Just check your event invitation for information.

There are many ways to get involved and make a difference.

Why do I receive so much mail from Planned Parenthood?

What's the difference between donating to Planned Parenthood Federation of America or Planned Parenthood North Central States?

Gifts to Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) support local and regional health care services, education, and legislative advocacy programs. We are a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, tax exempt organization and gifts to PPNCS are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Gifts to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) support national communications, legal, and public affairs work. PPFA is a separate 501 (c)(3) organization.

What’s the difference between Planned Parenthood and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund or Advocates Organizations?

Within the umbrellas of Planned Parenthood North Central States, there are distinct organizations that serve our local communities:

Gifts to Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) support local and regional health care services, education, and legislative advocacy programs. We are a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, tax exempt organization and gifts to PPNCS are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Iowa, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Nebraska are non-partisan, 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organizations. Planned Parenthood PACs focus on solely electoral activities, including candidate endorsements. Some gifts to the PACs are reportable to regulatory entities. All gifts to the PACs are not tax-deductible because of the political nature of their work.
