St. Paul, Minnesota – Planned Parenthood North Central States announced today that eligible employees have voted to form a union with Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa (SEIU). In total, out of 429 employees eligible to vote, 238 staff voted to form a union with SEIU, and 26 voted to not form a union. This means that PPNCS administrative and health services staff will be forming a union represented by SEIU. The vote results now await certification by the National Labor Relations Board, with a collective bargaining process to follow.

The following statement may be attributed to Molly Gage, Vice President of Human Resources for PPNCS:

“PPNCS welcomes Service Employees International Union Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa (SEIU) as the representative of bargaining unit employees. At a time when reproductive rights and the freedom of bodily autonomy are under intense attack, we will work with SEIU to support our employees, and to strengthen public policy, and improve access to abortion and all sexual and reproductive health care and education.”
