Pregnancy of Unknown Location in Abortion Care: Challenges and Opportunities

Access to early abortion care offers many benefits for patients. In patients who present for abortion early in pregnancy, an individual may be classified as having a pregnancy of unknown location (PUL). A patient with PUL has a positive pregnancy test but no evidence of intrauterine or ectopic pregnancy on ultrasonography. This session will review PUL definitions and diagnosis and discuss challenges and opportunities for management for patients with PUL presenting for abortion care.
