IUD and Implant Experts

Planned Parenthood providers are nationally recognized leaders in sexual and reproductive health care. This means we're at the leading edge of providing the safest, most effective birth control options for each person. As specialists, our providers have more experience providing IUDs and implants than most.

Take the Quiz
Why choose an IUD or implant?

They're safe, and some of the most effective birth control methods available. Some IUDs last up to 12 years! Our providers can remove your IUD or implant at any time if you decide you want to get pregnant.

Are IUDs and implants expensive?

Because they're long lasting, IUDs and implants are very cost effective.  Most private health insurance plans now cover birth control without co-pays or deductibles.

Do IUDs or implants prevent STDs?

Nope. Neither protects against STDs. Luckily, using condoms or female condoms every time you have sex does lower your chances of getting or spreading STDs. So using condoms with your implant or IUD is the best way to prevent infections.

National Leaders in Sexual and Reproductive Health

Planned Parenthood providers have the same training as primary care providers, plus specialized education in birth control and sexual and reproductive health. Our doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are among the best trained and most experienced in this field of medicine.
