Preventive Care Information and Instructions

Thank you for choosing Planned Parenthood of Michigan for your reproductive and sexual health care. We strive to exceed your expectations by providing high quality, inclusive, nonjudgmental care. Our goal is to offer care that puts you in the center. We will give you information and support so you can make the best decisions for your health.

Please note: you will speak with a health care professional at your appointment about your medical information, all of your options, and you will be able to ask questions.

About Your Visit

At this visit, a licensed clinician will talk to you about your history and preventive care needs. This visit may include screening for cervical cancer, a pelvic exam, a clinical breast exam, a testicular exam, and/or a visual exam of genitalia. We can also do STI testing if desired or needed. For more information on sexual and reproductive health preventive visits, please visit PlannedParenthood.org.

If you would like, we can also discuss birth control, planning for a pregnancy, or any reproductive or sexual health questions and/or concerns you may have.

We ask that you do not bring children to your visit. We know that this is sometimes unavoidable, and we will do our best to provide you the care you need while ensuring the safety of you and everyone in our health centers.

You will be screened for COVID symptoms and exposure when you arrive. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or a recent high-risk exposure, please cancel and reschedule your appointment when resolved.
