Melissa Lee joins Planned Parenthood of Maryland with more than two decades of experience in treasury management and investment management for numerous public and private sector entities. Most recently, Ms. Lee served as Founder and Managing Principal of Lee Squared Consulting Group LLC, a financial consulting firm that delivered financial strategies for small businesses and community-based organizations. Statement from Melissa Lee, Chief Financial Officer, Planned Parenthood of Maryland

“I am humbled at this opportunity to build up Planned Parenthood of Maryland’s operational capacity at this crucial time, and I look forward to helping lead the organization in rising to meet the increased demand for quality, compassionate sexual and reproductive health care services in our state.”

Statement from Karen J. Nelson, President and CEO, Planned Parenthood of Maryland

“Planned Parenthood of Maryland serves an essential role in the national landscape by providing exceptional care to Marylanders while also filling in gaps in sexual and reproductive health care for out-of-state patients. In recent months, out-of-state patients have accounted for as much as 13 percent of PPM’s abortion appointments, and local demand for gender-affirming care services far exceeds providers’ capacity.

Strengthening PPM’s leadership team by including Melissa Lee as our new CFO reflects PPM’s efforts to find innovative ways to augment our service capacity as attacks on reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy increase across the nation.”
