Be seen. Be you.

Ever feel like you need a space where you can just be your authentic self? Somewhere free and open, where you will be accepted for who you are — regardless of who you love or how you identify.

The Rainbow Room is a place where you can come as you are. No judgment. No pressure.

We believe that the ability to live our lives with pride, free from violence and discrimination is just basic. That's why we're open to people of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

Join us at The Rainbow Room to find support, information, friendship, and validation. We're here every Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00.

The Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room has been meeting in Doylestown, PA since 2002 and welcomes all youth, ages 14 to 21. On the fourth Wednesday of every month we welcome youth ages 12 to 13 to join us, with guardian or parent consent. Please email us at [email protected] for a consent form. Due to the wider age range on 4th Wednesdays, the themes and activities are put together with the youngest members in mind (think: crafts and games!).

The program is led by a team of award-winning, trauma-informed, sexuality education professionals with advanced degrees and certifications in relevant fields. We also have a wonderful team of long-term, trained volunteers who support the program. Safety, security and inclusivity are priorities. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities with the Rainbow Room, click here!

Clearances are required for all employees and volunteers.

More About Us

The program has a welcoming and affirming format, which starts with a review of our ground rules, followed by a check-in, announcements, and then we shift into that night’s topic or activity. The youth contribute to helping us design the program and selecting topics and activities. Topics typically range from medically accurate, age-appropriate sexuality education, advocacy and empowerment, crafts and games, film showings, and guest speakers and visitors.

While most of the youth identify as LGBTQ+, we also have allies that regularly attend. The program is funded and run by Planned Parenthood Keystone, and we are grateful to Salem Church for giving us space. While not affiliated with the church, we are grateful for their support! We know how nervous many youth are the first time they come, and we make a point of welcoming and including them.

Roy G. Biv

Rainbow Room Junior! We now have an LGBTQ+ group called Roy G Biv for ages 10-14, which meets at the Doylestown Rainbow Room every Thursday, 6-7:30pm. Guardian/parent consent required. Contact us for details about RGB at: [email protected]

Lower Bucks Rainbow Room

The Lower Bucks Rainbow Room meets every Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 334 S Bellevue Ave, Langhorne 19047.

To get more info, DM us on Instagram or email [email protected].

PFLAG

Another helpful resource for family and friends of LGBTQ+ youth is PFLAG. PFLAG Bucks holds meetings on the 4th Wednesdays monthly at Salem Church. It is down the hall from the Rainbow Room and a wonderful, welcoming space for parents and friends of LGBTQ+ people, where they can be in a meeting at the same time as the youth are in the Rainbow Room.

You can contact the PFLAG Bucks County leaders directly here!

Covid Safety

COVID safety: We request that all participants are fully vaccinated and without symptoms (with virtual option most weeks) and are masked for indoor activities.  Follow us on IG and FB for in person/virtual changes! This is important as it may change week to week, as we navigate this public health issue together.
