Earlier today, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence announced he has directed the Indiana State Department of Health to investigate Planned Parenthood facilities in Indiana in cooperation with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General to ensure compliance with the law. Following is a statement from Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky (PPINK) President and CEO Betty Cockrum:

“As we’ve said, PPINK does not participate in any tissue donation program. And of course, we hold compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations as an imperative. Tissue donation is a standard practice in the medical community in the interest of research to advance the practice of medicine.”
