INDIANAPOLIS - Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky (PPINK) is alarmed that lawmakers voted 7-6 to uphold House Bill 1128, a bill written with the sole purpose of further burdening access to abortion.
"This bill is an attempt by politicians to use junk science to erode trust in safe, legal non-surgical abortion practices," said Betty Cockrum, President and CEO of PPINK. "Politicians should not be involved in a woman's personal decisions surrounding her pregnancy."
The bill's author, Rep. Bacon (R-Chandler), acknowledged that as long as Roe v. Wade is the law of the land and he remains a politician, he will continue his efforts to interfere in the sacred doctor/patient relationship and women's personal, private medical decisions.
