Informed Consent & Confidentiality

Before you join any research study, you will be asked to provide  informed consent. This ensures that potential research participants are fully aware of the study's key elements. The research assistant will discuss the goal of the research project and your level of participation, describe the risks and benefits of participation, provide information on how to contact the research team and ethics committees, and describe the steps that are being taken to protect your confidentiality.  Participants are free to withdraw consent at any time.

Prior to joining, the research assistant will:

  • Answer questions
  • Help set realistic expectations
  • Provide a copy of the consent form & contact info
  • Will NOT persuade participant to enroll
