March 2, 2018 (Des Moines, IA) – Des Moines area volunteers are excited to announce the 58th year of the Planned Parenthood Book Sale, set for April 19-23 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Friday, April 20 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday, April 21 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday, April 22 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Monday, April 23 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The large semi-annual sale features tens of thousands of heavily discounted used and new books, movies, music, artwork, games, puzzles, collectible items, and more. There is a $10 admission charge for opening night, April 19, but all other days of the sale are free to enter.
The Book Sale is made possible by hundreds of volunteers who sort and mark donations, set up the sale, assist shoppers and more. Those interested in volunteering may sign up online at www.DesMoinesBookSale.com. Those who would like to donate books or other items can drop items off anytime at the Jacqueline N. Blank Book Drop, 123 Clark St. in Des Moines.
To date, the Book Sale has raised nearly $11 million to benefit Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s education and outreach programs. Last year, PPHeartland provided 3,089 programs on health, relationships and sexuality education that reached nearly 46,000 Iowa teens and adults.
