A Top Performer in LGBTQ+ Health

PPGC is proud to be named an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Top Performer by the Human Rights Campaign again in 2024. The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national LGBTQ+ benchmarking tool that evaluates nearly 2,400 health care facilities’ policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of LGBTQ+ patients, visitors, and employees. Out of a record 1,065 participating providers in 2024, PPGC was one of 462 facilities to earn the Top Performer designation.

Preventing and treating HIV.

We offer a variety of ways to prevent and treat HIV. In addition to resources and referrals for HIV care, patients can come to PPGC for PrEP to help prevent HIV and nPEP to lower the risk of infection after an exposure.

We Offer Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast is proud to serve transgender people and patients on the spectrum of gender identity and expression for their sexual health care needs.

PPGC has expanded current health care services for transgender patients to include gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) services via telehealth. We also offer in-person GAHT visits in our New Orleans health center, and our GAHT care coordinators can also help with name and gender marker changes and connecting you to community resources.
