The organization shall be a voluntary, nonprofit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the state of New York and shall be non-discriminatory based on race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, income, marital status or political affiliation in its selection of Board members, officers, staff, volunteers and the individuals it serves.
Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY) will incorporate and promote diversity in every aspect of our work – in our treatment of clients and staff; in our composition and recruitment of Board, staff, and volunteers; in the manner in which we conduct meetings and work with the community; in our relations with the Federation; in the formulation and practice of our mission, policies and procedures aimed at empowering every individual to exercise reproductive rights and sexual self-determination. PPCWNY will reflect and represent the diversity of perspectives in the formulation and implementation of PPCWNY policies and procedures.
Additionally, PPCWNY will not enter into any contract or other arrangement for the use of a facility that discriminates in its membership policies, whether written or in practice, on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, income, marital status, or other basis protected by applicable law. PPCWNY will proactively seek to utilize facilities in and vendors from diverse communities.
PPCWNY welcomes and celebrates the diversity of viewpoints and opinions which results from the creation of a genuinely multicultural affiliate and will ensure that this diversity and the free expression thereof is fostered and encouraged.
PPCWNY will ensure that appropriate mechanisms are built in at every level of the affiliate in order to guarantee accountability and monitoring of these goals.
