The Connection, a program of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York was recently awarded a grant in the amount of $7,200.00 from the WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund to support their work in addressing community challenges in the pandemic. All ages and genders are welcome to request hygiene kits from The Connection in Niagara Falls, located at 1700 Main Street, from now until supplies last. Kits are packaged in reusable bags and include a three-month supply of menstrual products, condoms, deodorant, and body wash. Kit preferences may be customized online at http://bit.ly/menstrualkitsnf or by completing a form
in person at The Connection. For more information, call 716-205-0028.
Health Education and Outreach Supervisor Lynne Neveu realizes the important need that these free hygiene kits fill. “We see so often that people are missing school and work due to lack of access to menstrual and hygiene products,” says Neveu. The pandemic has presented challenges and limited people’s ability to buy products that they need. Neveu added, “We also know that hygiene products are personal to each person and are happy to be able to offer a variety of brands so that people can choose based on their preferences.”
The Connection is a free center in Niagara Falls for people ages 11-18 and is open during the school year and summer months. Youth can socialize, enjoy daily meals or snacks, free Wi-Fi, fun activities, field trips, and job assistance.
