Accreditation

ach Planned Parenthood affiliate is accredited every three years through a rigorous appraisal of its policies, practices, and programs. PPCWNY’s accreditation process is complete and PPCWNY passed with flying colors! Our accredited status has been extended for the next three years!

This appraisal is conducted through off-site and on-site reviews that assess affiliates’ compliance with PPFA-defined elements of performance (EOPs). There are 362 EOPs and 1,500+ indicators. PPCWNY spent the last year planning, preparing, and submitting countless documents to PPFA, and PPFA’s Accreditation and Evaluation Department (AED) spent the past two weeks interviewing staff and board members, touring our facilities, and meticulously reviewing our workflows and practices, including:

  • Review of 352 medical records
  • Observation of over 25 health center staff members and the provision of 55 services
  • Review of 35 personnel files
  • Review of credentialing processes and required trainings
  • Reviews of 7 health centers
  • Hours of interviews with staff from all departments

PPCWNY had 0 Class I Corrective Actions and 14 Class II Corrective Actions. Again, this is out of 362 EOPs/1,500+ indicators we are required to meet. This is an incredible result! PPCWNY will be accredited for three more years!
