RESTORE Honors 50th Anniversary with Healing Garden

RESTORE, PPCWNY’s sexual assault crisis program, is celebrating 50 years of service in our community this year. In July, the RESTORE team, members of our Programs, Development, and Public Affairs departments, and CEO Michelle Casey worked together to plant a Healing Garden at our Rochester location in honor of this anniversary milestone. Staff and supporters also wrote messages of hope to sexual violence survivors.

In addition to flora like white phlox, cosmos, and forget-me-nots, you’ll notice the garden has several beautifully decorated stones. These were painted by RESTORE staff during a recent work retreat, an opportunity for staff who could not attend the initial planting to contribute to the garden. Folx are welcome to take and leave the garden stones as they are moved to do so.

PPCWNY is so grateful for our RESTORE team of advocates, counselors, administrators, and more. This group of amazing individuals are carrying on a legacy of empowering survivors of sexual violence through compassion, validation, and healing.

The next round of RESTORE volunteer advocate training will be held later in September. If you’re interested in this role, please email [email protected].
