You’re Invited: Day of Action 2024

PPCWNY is proud to be joining Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts (PPESA) and advocates from across the state for a Day of Action in Albany on Wednesday, January 24, 2024

Day of Action is an opportunity to speak directly with your elected representatives about protecting and expanding access to sexual and reproductive health care.

Registration is now open. Use this link to sign up and join us in advocating for the freedom to make the decisions that are best for our bodies and our futures. Below are some common questions about Day of Action, along with answers from our PPCWNY Public Affairs staff.

What does Day of Action look like?

Day of Action changes in small ways every year, but this is what advocates can generally expect:

  • Catch the PPCWNY advocate bus in the morning in Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse. Exact departure times and locations TBA.
  • Arrive at the Capitol, go through security, and engage with advocates from across the state at an address and rally.
  • Lunch is served.
  • Split up into smaller groups to meet with elected representatives.
  • Board the bus to head back to Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.

Does participating in Day of Action cost anything?

Participation in Day of Action is completely free and includes transportation, lunch, and some small snacks during our bus trip.

How will I get there?

PPCWNY staff and advocates travel to Day of Action in Albany together via bus. The bus will pick up advocates in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. Additional information about where and when to catch the bus TBA.

I’ve never lobbied or met with a representative before – how will I know what do to at the meetings?

That’s okay! No experience is required to participate in Day of Action. PPCWNY and PPESA provide numerous optional virtual trainings leading up to the Day of Action. Plus, you’ll always be accompanied in your meetings by PPCWNY staff and experienced advocates.

Who do I reach out to with questions about Day of Action?

Our Manager of Community and Public Affairs, Meredith (she/her), is happy to take any questions or concerns you have about participating in Day of Action. You can email her at [email protected].

We hope to see you on January 24!
