Meet PPCWNY’s New Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion!

We are so excited to introduce Richelle B., who has joined PPCWNY as the new Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)!

Richelle started her career in Washington, D.C., as a teacher in underserved schools. After spending four years in Panama teaching English and running a literacy program, she returned to Fairfax, Virginia, where she created a Family Resource Center that focused on diversity in the school, equity for the student population, and inclusion for all. She later co-founded the non-profit A Place to Stand to address homelessness in the region. Richelle spent the past 25+ years working with school systems and NGOs on socio-economic and racial equity. She has worked extensively with community organizations to improve the lives of people experiencing food insecurity and housing instability. Richelle loves spending time with her family, listening to music, watching soccer, and traveling.

As the Director of DEI, Richelle will implement and oversee PPCWNY’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, take the lead on our Pride activities and DEI Committee, and consult on recruitment and retention efforts, communications, organizational development, and more.

Please join us in welcoming Richelle to PPCWNY!
