On April 12, PPCWNY and 21 other community partner agencies in Rochester signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bivona Child Advocacy Center, to call attention to Child Abuse Prevention Month and recommit to a collaborative partnership and multidisciplinary approach to caring for child sexual abuse in Monroe County.

RESTORE works with local child advocacy centers on a multidisciplinary team that responds to reports of child sexual abuse. This team includes Child Protective Services, law enforcement, district attorneys, counselors, and advocates. RESTORE Family Advocates have provided crisis intervention, advocacy, and support services to children and their families since Bivona's doors opened in 2004.

Many thanks to the RESTORE team, who does this incredibly important work day in and day out.

Interested in volunteering with RESTORE? The next round of volunteer advocate training will kick off this summer. All applicants will be screened and must complete a 40-hour training. To get started, download the volunteer advocate application and email to [email protected].

If you or someone you know is in need of RESTORE’s services, there are 24-hour hotlines available:

Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties: 1-585-546-2777
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network): 1-800-656-4673
