PPCWNY Intern Candice Ogbu Honored as “Unsung Hero”!

Congratulations to PPCWNY intern Candice Ogbu, who was recently recognized as one of Syracuse University’s 2023 “Unsung Heroes”. These awards are presented each year during SU’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day event. This recognition has been given out since 1994 to community leaders who embody MLK’s vision for an equal nation and world.

A senior at SU, Candice completed an internship as a Peer Health Advocate with the Education and Outreach Department, at our Syracuse location. She is double majoring in psychology and neuroscience with a minor in disability studies. Candice has been a great asset to the Education department during her time with Planned Parenthood. We share our huge congratulations, and much pride, and look forward to seeing what’s next for this amazing changemaker!
