What We’ve Been Up To

Syracuse Health Center Now Offering Free Chest Binders

We are proud to announce that our Syracuse Health Center is distributing free chest binders in collaboration with Point of Pride, a non-profit that has donated thousands of gender-affirming garments to trans youth and adults. Non-patients who are within a 30-mile radius of the Syracuse Health Center can set up a time to come in and securely and discretely pick up the garments they requested through Point of Pride; there will also be a space where folks can try on their garments. Garments are also available for Syracuse GAHC (gender-affirming hormone care) patients. The overall goal of this project is to increase access to gender-affirming shapewear for those seeking it in the community and fortify PPCWNY as a safe and affirming space.

Abortion Always Wins Event

On March 23, Annie M. (Outreach and Education Specialist) and Rachel M. (Executive Assistant to the CEO) had a great time tabling at Abortion Always Wins, a fundraiser benefiting the New York Abortion Access Fund! Held at Mohawk Place in Buffalo, the event featured bands, burlesque (including a performance by Training Coordinator Tamika N.!), drag, art, and community outreach, with the goal of creating conversation and awareness around reproductive health and rights.

Protect the Abortion Pill Rally

On March 24, PPCWNY joined Rochester NOW, Roc.SRJ, Being Black in the Burbs and Accomplices, ROC DSA’s Socialist Feminist Collective, The New Pride Agenda, and The Party for Socialism and Liberation Finger Lakes at Rochester’s Washington Square Park to raise our voices to protect the abortion pill, mifepristone, which is at the center of a Supreme Court case. VP of Public & Executive Affairs Maddie D. delivered a powerful speech addressing the onslaught of attacks on reproductive rights and lifting up PPCWNY’s commitment to serve our communities, no matter what. Great job, Maddie, and thanks to everyone who participated in the rally!
