Happy National Volunteer Month!

By Kathy P., Volunteer Program Manager

Am I too biased saying that the volunteers of Planned Parenthood are the BEST? I think not! It’s National Volunteer Month and working with our volunteers is the most interesting and satisfying aspect of my role as Volunteer Program Manager. I am inspired by every one of you and your history of dedication to the PPCWNY mission.

Everyone reading this newsletter is either a PPCWNY volunteer or intern, and for that, we are eternally grateful! You have all gotten involved in different ways, and have different motivations and experience. I, along with many others, enjoy hearing about your individual journey of engagement and support for Planned Parenthood. The “Why I Volunteer” articles featured in each issue of Volunteer Voice share wonderful examples of volunteer involvement with Planned Parenthood. Brooke L., who authored this month’s article, is a fabulous long-time volunteer with quite the track record of volunteerism, dedication, and passion for this work. I have found that each of our volunteers (and interns) has their own unique chapter of time spent at PPCWNY.

Whether you have been with us for several years, or just one month, your gift of time is greatly appreciated by all at Planned Parenthood. On behalf of all of us at PPCWNY, I wish you a happy National Volunteer Month and share a huge THANK YOU for all your help this past year. Please continue to stand with us and keep on inspiring and sharing your passion for this work -- it is greatly needed and much appreciated.
