Teri Huyck Announces Retirement and Tanya Atkinson Named Incoming President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin

Today, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) President and CEO Teri Huyck, announced her retirement after nine years leading Wisconsin's largest most trusted reproductive health care provider. The PPWI board has appointed Tanya Atkinson, PPWI's current chief external affairs officer to serve as the incoming President and Chief Executive Officer. Huyck's retirement and Atkinson's appointment are effective February 3, 2017.

"It has been a privilege to be a part of PPWI's 80 year legacy of health care working alongside some of the most qualified, committed and determined individuals I have ever known," Huyck said. "The strength of Tanya Atkinson's leadership coupled with the commitment of Planned Parenthood's board and expert staff puts PPWI in a strong position to ensure our patients are safe, healthy and strong – no matter what."

Atkinson, in her current role at PPWI leads the teams responsible for government relations, community organizing, and external communication initiatives; and Embody – PPWI's statewide educational programs. Tanya began her career with PPWI in 2004, giving her a deep understanding of PPWI's business, organizational partners and patient needs.

An accomplished leader, Atkinson has experience in management, leadership, administration and teaching. Atkinson has served as an adjunct professor at both Carroll University and the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Atkinson received her MSSW at the University of Wisconsin Madison and B.S. at Carroll University.
