PPWI is asking our supporters to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by making cloth masks for our patients.
The CDC currently recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings, and PPWI would like to provide our patients with cloth masks upon arrival at our health centers -- especially in communities with the highest number of COVID-19 cases. We will also be prioritizing our abortion health centers, which have patients traveling to their locations from many communities around the state, and other health centers with high patient volume.
Cloth face coverings are intended help reduce the spread of droplets from the nose and mouth of asymptomatic patients, who may not know they are infected COVID-19. They are not intended for health center staff who will continue to wear medical grade personal protection equipment (PPE).
