Albany Women's March: Rally to Defend Abortion Access

West Capitol Park in Albany at 1pm

Join Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood in Albany as part of the Women’s March to Defend Abortion Access on Saturday, October 2 to make our voices heard at the steps of the Supreme Court, and in communities across the U.S., including here in Albany. We’re gearing up for the fight of our lives. We will fight through the courts and march in every single state to send the singular, powerful message: We won’t back down. Not now, not ever.

U.S. Supreme Court declined to take emergency action to prevent Texas S.B. 8 from taking effect, thus allowing abortions after six weeks to be effectively banned in Texas. S.B. 8 deputizes private citizens to take legal action against anyone who provides or “aids or abets” an abortion in Texas after six weeks. Under S.B. 8, few will be able to receive very early abortion in the state and everyone else would have to seek services out of state. For many Texans, particularly those who are Black or Latinx, who have low incomes, or who live in rural areas, this means that abortion will be completely unattainable.

Masks required. Swag available on first come first serve basis.
