Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood Recognizes Outstanding Volunteers, Donors

Judith Maguire of East Greenbush was recently recognized by Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood for 20 years of volunteer service. For the majority of those years, Maguire has served as a patient escort, greeting patients on days of anti-choice picketing at both the Albany and Troy UHPP health centers. She has also supported the center through advocacy activities and most recently provided office support at the Albany health center.

Maguire was honored at the agency's Annual Meeting and Recognition Reception which took place on May 18 at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Albany. Other Rensselaer County residents were also recognized for contributing an exceptional number of volunteer hours in 2010. These included Ms. Gloria Rodgers of Troy and Ms. Tricia Kent, a student at RPI.

UHPP has been serving Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties for over 77 years. The mission of UHPP is to promote healthy sexuality and reproductive choice through exceptional service, honest education, and fearless advocacy.

Further information about the event can be obtained by calling 434-5678 x 140 or emailing [email protected].
