National Condom Week Events in Albany, Hudson and Troy

WHAT: Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood (UHPP) is focusing its "Condom Week" outreach efforts by planning four “pub crawl” style events on Valentine's Day weekend. During the weeklong event, four groups of volunteers will distribute 2,000 condoms in Albany, Hudson and Troy. They also will give out safer sex kits, Mardi Gras condom beads and temporary tattoos. Volunteers will invite patrons to play a trivia game about issues of sexuality and sexual health and test patrons’ skills for the right way to put on a condom.  

WHEN/WHERE:
Valentine’s Day/Friday, February 14 

Hudson, NY, 8-11 p.m.: Wunderbar, Red Dot, Savoias, Half Moon and Mexican Radio

Troy, NY, 8 p.m.-midnight: Ryan's Wake, Ale House, Tal Lounge, Bootleggers, Kokopelli's and The Ruck


Saturday, February 15 

Albany, NY, 9 p.m. to midnight: Waterworks, Oh Bar, Lionheart, Pearl Street Pub, Cafe Hollywood, Rocks, Graney's, City Beer Hall, Stout, and McGeary's Pub

Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit organization serving Albany, Columbia, Greene and Rensselaer counties. Each year, nearly 10,000 patients make nearly than 15,000 visits to UHPP’s health centers in Albany, Hudson and Troy. UHPP offers a wide range of reproductive health services, including annual GYN exams, PAP tests, breast exams and self-exam instruction, colposcopy, cryosurgery, STI testing and treatment, birth control information and supplies, Emergency Contraception, pregnancy testing, first trimester abortion, and referrals for adoption and prenatal care. UHPP provides more than 500 annual Education sessions and advocates for high quality reproductive healthcare.
